Scope of Kaleidoscope

The Kaleidoscope Project incorporates all Group members, including:

  • East Midlands Housing Association (EMH)
  • Foundation Housing Association (FHA)
  • Midlands Rural Housing (MRH)
  • Three Oaks Homes (TOH)

 

Its scope is kept under continuous review and includes any matter which causes a person to be treated with injustice.  In particular, Kaleidoscope focuses on promoting equality in relation to:

  • Race & ethnic origin
  • Faith & religious belief
  • Disability
  • HIV & Aids
  • Gender
  • Gender identity, & sexuality
  • Age

 

Potentially, all areas of the Group’s activities fall within the remit of the Kaleidoscope project.  However, in particular, Kaleidoscope focuses on:

  • Governance
  • Employment
  • Procurement
  • Resident involvement
  • Access to housing and meeting local needs
  • Service accessibility & customer satisfaction
  • Accessible information

 

The Kaleidoscope project also provides a strategic framework for the Group’s approach to dealing with issues relating to:

  • Community cohesion (alongside the organisation’s Respect Group)
  • Harassment
  • Domestic violence


Kaleidoscope Action Plan

This Strategy is supported by a Kaleidoscope Action Plan.  This action plan is reviewed regularly, and progress in its delivery is reported every six months to the Equality and Diversity Scrutiny Panel.

Kaleidoscope Working Group

The delivery of the Kaleidoscope Strategy and action plan is the responsibility of the Kaleidoscope Working Group.
